This is the ultimate French cycling holiday, starting in Nice and finishing in the heart of the Alps on the iconic 21 bends of Alpe d’Huez. We ride through lavender and sunflower fields, visit honey coloured Provençal villages and conquer the mighty Mont Ventoux. We traverse the French Alps, conquering the most famous climbs - Galibier, Izoard, Croix de Fer, Bonette. It’s a cyclists dream, timed to perfection to see highlight stages of the Tour de France.

Terrain Mountainous with an average altitude of 1500m per day, with some consecutive days 2000m+ as we ride through the Alps.

Accomodation A mix of hotels/chalets (8 nights) and camping (7 nights).

Start/Finish Meet in Nice, Finish in the Alps. Nice is easily acessible with an international airport. In the Alps we assist with transfers to Grenoble which has rail links to Lyon Airport and the TGV.

Tour Highlights

We start in Nice, the jewell of the mediterranean with the first day’s riding in the beautiful hinterland of the Côte d’Azur, including the stunning Verdon Gorge, with its aquamarine waters and cliff edge rocks.

Cycling through Provence! Perched villages, medieval towns, lavender and sunflower fields and honey-coloured villages. Crisp rosé and the Provençal cuisine - bursting with colour and flavour. We take you to some of our favourite restaurants in France.

Riding Mont Ventoux and the epic climbs of the French Alps: Alpe d’Huez, Col du Telegraph, Col de l’Izoard, Galibier, Col de la Bonette, Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Vars. This trip really is a mountain climbers dream!!

See the Tour de France in the heart of the French Alps! Each year we time this tour to carefully coincide with highlight stages of the Tour de France. Watching a mountain top finish is an experience you will never forget!
